This blog chronicles the miracles and struggles of our daughters, Emily and Olivia. Emily was born 15 weeks early and had many complications, but she continues to amaze us! Olivia, born in China with heart complications, is also beating the odds. She joined her forever family (us!) when she was four years old and has been doing wonderfully! UPDATE: We started homeschooling August 2009 :)

"Catch Me!"

P.S.
It just dawned on me that tomorrow marks 8 months since we first met Olivia! Our Gotcha Day was February 27 and you can see that entry here.

(23 second video clip)

In case you've been fooled by the pony tails and clips, Olivia's hair is still pretty short, but it is coming along nicely. Here you can see that we're still in the process of growing out her bangs...and you can see why it's usually pulled up out of her eyes!

In addition to her hair growing, I think she's finally had a little growth spurt :) I think it's just happened in the last week or so because suddenly the pants she's been wearing since we met in China are high waters! I noticed it yesterday and thought it was odd that the pants that were fine last week are suddenly so short. Then today a second pair was also short so I checked her against her tick marks on the wall and, by George, the girl has grown at least an inch! Finally :) She's going to be five soon and she's still in 18-24 months clothes! No one believes she's four, and they'll really think we're crazy when we say she's five!

Ok..so I'll admit I thought her hair was much longer. The pony tails really were deceiving though! And yes, definitely see why you need those clips! Our younger one doesn't have bangs and my DH is driven crazy with always putting it to the side w/ a clip. He wants bangs cut in - I say let it grow and we can have them cut in later!

Love the school photos you took! How awesome! I ordered preschool pics sight unseen so I have my fingers crossed they came out ok. Lately though when someone takes her photo she tilts her head and gives a nice smile. We'll have to see how they come out. But I may have to borrow your idea of a "home portrait" if these don't turn out well!
